Lake Drain and Dam Repair Update

LAKE DRAIN IS SCHEDULED FOR OCTOBER 1 - Latest News dated September 14, 2008

The lake drain will be delayed due to two baby loon chicks. The loon is protected in the state of New Hampshire. This year on Sunrise lake two baby loon chicks were born similar to the last four years. The loon chicks cannot fly until they come to a certain age. It is estimated that the chicks will be able to fledge by early October. Lake draining and dam repairs will commence at that time. I will keep you updated on dam repair progress.

Lakeside Promise - Your Holiday Headquarters

Are you hosting a family gathering this holiday season and want to make it a year to remember? Have you considered renting a vacation home? With Thanksgiving just around the corner it is time to plan a memorable gathering. Our NH Vacation Home sleeps 10 guests with plenty of room to relax and enjoy this time with others. If you haven't visited Lakeside Promise in the winter it is a treat you should try. Our remote controlled fireplaces and bubbling jacuzzi tub are perfect for a cold winter day or night.

There are plenty of vacation ideas surrounding the holiday season of which I will mention a few. The Polar Express train out of North Conway is only 75 minutes from Lakeside Promise. We were fortunate enough to be picked for the lottery last year and brought our boys on a train ride to visit Santa's Village, complete with elves!

How about attending a small New England town's first night events. Wolfeboro is just the place to try. If you like Wolfeboro in the summer you will love it fully decked out for the holidays.

Whatever your ideas let me know and I'll see what I can find. I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,
Robin Clapp

P.S. Don't forget to visit our new Guest Page to view the guest submitted photos.
